With all-new engine lineup, the Tata Kite 5 sedan (Sway) will be more powerful and fuel efficient than its replacement i.e. the Indigo eCS. The engine options on offer will be a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder Revotron-derived petrol and a new 1.05-litre turbocharged diesel that could be paired to a 5-speed manual and an AMT transmission.
Tata’s upcoming budget sedan will be based on the Indigo eCS’s XO platform that has been modified for better rigidity and stability. It will also feature all-new tapering roof-lines and prominent window lines. With bold stances and aggressive styling, the Tata Kite sedan will look more contemporary and premium than the Indigo eCS.
Inside the cabin, the car gets the Zest-inspired dashboard and instrument panel along with lots of safety & comfort equipment. Though, these are presumed to be carrying impact of cost cutting measures. Features like an 8-speaker 2-DIN audio system with USB, AUX and Bluetooth connectivity, three spoke multifunction steering wheel, dual airbags and anti-lock braking system (ABS) will also be carried forward from the Tiago hatch.
This compact sedan will be as spacious and comfortable as its replacement. It will come with best-in-class boot space of 420-litres.
